Hi folks. It’s been a while since we’ve written. Sorry, but we’ve been super busy getting the good ship Shannon ready for her summer siesta in Mazatlan. She is now resting comfortably at Marina Mazatlan, under the diligent care of Tony’s Boat Management. Tony is a great guy and his services include checking her regularly, airing out the cabin to help prevent humidity problems, keeping her decks and bottom clean, checking her dock lines and just generally keeping a watchful eye on how she’s doing… We’re very happy with how she’ll be cared for in our absence and look forward to starting again next season… with a clear start at seeing as much of the coastal mainland as we can.
We left Mazatlan at dawn on Monday, April 1st (was that only yesterday?) and drove north for ten hours to San Carlos. We’ll be here, in the San Carlos/ Guaymas area for today (April 2nd) checking out shipyards and marinas… seeking safe haven for future summers. Then, on the 3rd we’ll continue on our journey home; first stop Yuma to catch up with Susan & George, then Palm Springs to see Ron & Dal’s new digs; and finally Seattle to have a quick visit with Colleen and Fred. This should be a comfortable journey home and a good opportunity to check in with folks we haven’t seen for a while.
We’ve still some stories to tell, photos to share, and info to pass on to fellow cruisers and travellers so, over the next while, both Kathy and I will submit to the Blog as we create and as we have time. For now, please know we are well (and the Princess says hi… she’s enjoying full size beds again :-)…
Chuck the truck is in fine fettle, loaded to the gills (as usual) and carrying us all northward… See you when we see you… Adios for now. CJ
